Pemahaman Perkembangan Emosional Anak Usia Dini di Desa Yosowilangun

Early childhood is a critical period for emotional development as children begin to recognize and manage their feelings. This study examines the emotional development of early childhood in Yosowilangun Village, Lumajang Regency, emphasizing how environmental and age factors influence emotional expression. A qualitative descriptive approach was used to explore the phenomenon naturally in its social context. Data were collected through interviews and observations involving children, parents, and caregivers selected using purposive sampling. The findings reveal that children’s emotional expressions—such as anger, fear, joy, jealousy, and sadness—vary according to age and social interaction patterns. Children aged 1–3 years tend to express emotions nonverbally, while those aged 5–8 years can articulate and regulate emotions more effectively. The study concludes that emotional development is shaped by interaction between individual maturity and environmental stimulation. Strengthening emotional guidance in early education is essential to help children build empathy, self-control, and social awareness.
ABSTRAK
Masa usia dini merupakan periode krusial bagi perkembangan emosi karena pada masa ini anak mulai mengenali dan mengelola perasaannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perkembangan emosional anak usia dini di Desa Yosowilangun Kabupaten Lumajang dengan menekankan pengaruh faktor lingkungan dan usia terhadap ekspresi emosi anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif untuk menggambarkan fenomena secara alami dalam konteks sosialnya. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan observasi terhadap anak, orang tua, serta pengasuh yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekspresi emosi anak—seperti marah, takut, gembira, cemburu, dan sedih—berbeda sesuai usia dan pola interaksi sosialnya. Anak usia 1–3 tahun mengekspresikan emosi secara nonverbal, sedangkan anak usia 5–8 tahun sudah mampu mengungkapkan dan mengendalikan emosinya secara verbal. Disimpulkan bahwa perkembangan emosi dipengaruhi oleh interaksi antara kematangan individu dan stimulasi lingkungan. Penguatan bimbingan emosional dalam pendidikan anak usia dini penting untuk membentuk empati, pengendalian diri, dan kesadaran sosial anak.
